The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (2022) This cover is a typographic redesign for The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, which recounts the fictional life story of a Golden-Age starlet. It was designed to feel like a relic one might find in their grandmother’s attic or in an antique shop. The final project was only intended to be mocked up or printed on printer paper for class, so the cover itself was made to look worn and seemingly tactile. Stylistically it finds a balance between the glamour and allure of the old Hollywood and the age and mystery of the plot itself. It is informed by typographic styles from the thirties, forties, and fifties.
