Robin’s Eye Design (2022) Ongoing; my first exploration into brand identities. Having a long-time hobby for jewelry making, Robin’s Eye Design started as my personal Etsy shop. As a full-time student I did not have time to fully develop this brand identity, nor did I have enough art to sell through the platform. For the time being it is my professional moniker (and Instagram handle), but I plan to keep developing it for use as my own design brand.
“Robin’s eye” is another name for forget-me-nots, which I learned from one of many old books about the historical language of flowers. They have been long-associated with love, connection, and memory. Robin’s Eye Design came about from this flower’s rich history and symbolism, providing a visual parallel to the soft yet colorful pieces I’d create, and an ethos that emulated my personal values. As a brand, the pieces are meant for the people you love and want to keep in mind—whether it’s yourself, a friend, or a loved one—almost as though to say “this made me think of you.”
